Listen to composers Freya Catrin Smith and Jack Williams share the story behind the show, the Garrick Theatre workshop production, and the road to creating a fully fledged musical about an extraordinary woman on the Filmed Live Musicals podcast.

Last Chance!
You have until 11.59pm EDT on June 9 to stream Celebrating 50 Years of Broadway’s Best on PBS. Filmed live at Lincoln Center, the concert is a revue of milestone Broadway shows and songs from 1973 to 2023 hosted by two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster. The Top 10
The Educational Theatre Association has released its annual list of the 10 most produced plays and musicals of the 2022-23 season. I think it’s worth noting that every single musical in both the full-length and short musical categories is based on a movie or TV show, or has had a well-known movie adaptation.
Go Behind the Scenes of Some Like it Hot
This is the kind of promotional material I live for.

Multiple camera angles that give us a glimpse into a world we wouldn’t normally wouldn’t get to see as the average audience member, CHECK!

Stage manager calling cues, CHECK!

Glorious tap dancing and quick changes, CHECK!

This minute-and-a-half long clip makes me want to buy a ticket because I feel like I’ve been invited in to the show. This is what filming live theatre is all about. What do you think?
New York, New York
Kick off the weekend with some “Wine & Peaches” from New York New York.
Alicia Keys and Hells Kitchen
Watch 15-time Grammy winner Alicia Keys perform "Like You'll Never See Me Again," from from Hells Kitchen on Good Morning America. Opening at The Public Theater in the fall, Hells Kitchen is a new musical loosely based on Keys’ own life growing up in New York City (New Yooooork, concrete jungle where dreams a made of…) which will be directed by Michael Greif (RENT) and choreographed by Camille A. Brown (Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert).
