Stage Production Notes
A new electro-rock sci-fi musical. Young Andy hasn’t had much luck in life or love. A change in fortune brings him into a windfall in the form of an old run-down house called ‘of a Lifetime’ which houses a completely self-sufficient mysterious community that appear to be lost in time.
of a Lifetime was created by Australian writer and composer James C K Jefferies (also known as Jamie Jefferies or James Jefferies).
The first act of the musical was showcased at the Villanova Players Company in Brisbane under the direction of Liz Morris. Songs from the show were also performed at the Royal George Hotel, where James lived, wrote, and produced the musical.
of a Lifetime premiered in Brisbane in Ric’s Cafe on May 18, 2016 as part of the annual Anywhere Festival. Footage from the performance is available on YouTube.
Songs from the musical were performed at NYC’s Don’t Tell Mama on July 27, 2019 featuring Lindsey Weiss, Estefania Montañez, and Mikey Miller. The concert is available to stream on YouTube.
The musical was set to be reprised at Don’t Tell Mama on September 25, 2019, featuring a full cast including Sage Spiker, Inri Faye, Carly Wheeler, Chloe Solomon, Bryan Douglas and Nathaniel Rosenthalis. The event was unfortunately cancelled.
Another concert was held at 53 Below Broadway on December 5, 2019, once again featuring Weiss and Miller, and joined by Sarah Bialkin. As with the earlier concert, the show is available to stream on YouTube.
of a Lifetime opened off-off Broadway at the Actors Temple Theatre in New York on October 31, 2021. The musical was directed by Dalia Sevilla, with choreography by Alexx Stachowiak and Melissa Sorkin, and lighting design by Maarten Cornelis. The cast included Sage Spiker, Inri Faye, Carly Wheeler, Chloe Solomon, Bryan Douglas and Nathaniel Rosenthalis. The musical closed on November 28, 2021.
