  • In July the Knight of Illumination Awards USA (KOI-USA), a group that recognizes the achievements of international lighting and video designers that has been performed or broadcast in the United States, announced the addition of a Live for Broadcast category. The category will be judged by a panel of experienced industry vets in theatre, film, and television, and awards will be presented in October, 2018.

  • British theatre publication The Stage ran an article on the growing popularity of stage plays adapted for television.

  • It has been announced that the West End production of The King and I, a transfer of the highly acclaimed 2015 Lincoln Center Theater revival, will be broadcast in cinemas across the world on November 29, 2018. Check https://www.kingandimusicalcinema.com/ for listings.
