  • Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert lighting designer Al Gurdon recently won the Knights of Illumination Ayrton Award for Entertainment & Events Live Broadcast. In awarding Gurdon, the judges noted “Apart from the accomplishment of surmounting huge logistical challenges presented by the venue’s limitations, and the extremely broad, 360° shooting style, this design shows artful compositions, creativity in cueing and use of color, and dramatic, script-appropriate intent.”
  • The King and I: Live from the Palladium was screened in cinemas around the world on November 29. The screening became the “biggest theatre event in cinemas in 2018” and demand for tickets led Trafalgar Releasing to organize further encore screenings in December.
  • Everybody's Talking About Jamie was awarded the 'Event Cinema Campaign of the Year' at the International Screen Awards 2018.  
  • British musical Pieces of String was filmed live during its run at the Mercury Theatre in Colchester. It is now available on Digital Theatre
  • The French premiere of Bernstein's Wonderful Town performed at the Opera de Toulon was captured live earlier this year and is now available on region 2 (UK and Europe only) DVD and Blu-Ray. It is available to purchase via BelAir Classiques
  • The West End revival of 42nd Street was filmed live by BroadwayHD in November and will be released in cinemas and online in 2019.
  • Hamilton and In the Heights composer and lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The unveiling was livestreamed by Variety Magazine. A star is very exciting and all, but when can we watch Hamilton on Netflix/BroadwayHD?!
