NBC has announced its next live television will be the controversial punk rock musical Hair. Like Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair will be filmed in front of a live audience and is set to air in 2019.
NBC had also previously announced Bye, Bye, Birdie starring Jennifer Lopez, however the musical has been postponed due to scheduling conflicts.
It is not yet known if Fox’s previously announced live television musical RENT, set to air on Jan 27, 2019, will also feature a live audience.
